Meditation - RENEW OUR DAYS AS OF OLD TO RESTORE OUR SPIRITUAL SELF

RENEW OUR DAYS AS OF OLD TO RESTORE OUR SPIRITUAL SELF Restore us to yourself, O  Lord , that we may be restored; renew our days as of old (Lamentations 5:21).   But Peter was following him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and going inside he sat with the guards in order to see how this would end...   Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A female servant came to him and said, “You also were with Jesus the Galilean.”   But he denied it before all of them, saying, “I do not know what you are talking about.”    When he went out to the porch, another female servant saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.”   Again he denied it with an oath, “I do not know the man.”    After a little while the bystanders came up and said to Peter, “Certainly you are also one of them, for your accent betrays you.”    Then he began to curse, and he swore an oath, “I do...

MEDITATION - NCREASE YOUR LITERARY TALENTS

INCREASE YOUR LITERARY TALENTS "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it" (John 1:1-3). Here, Jesus is described as the "Word"—the divine Logos who was with God and is God. This passage highlights that Jesus, as the Word, embodies divine wisdom and purpose. As the expression of God’s wisdom, He reveals divine reason and order to the world. Thus, Jesus is the living manifestation of God's truth and understanding. Similarly, literature can be seen as a reflection of this divine wisdom. It is through literary expressions that we convey our deepest thoughts and emotions. God desires that we use our literary talents not for self-glorification, but to...

Sermon - A HEART OF PRAISE

A HEART OF PRAISE Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.   Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.    Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.    And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:4-7) About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was an earthquake so violent that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened. (Acts 16:25-27). When we look at the world around us, we are often overwhelmed by bad news. Political unrest in Myanmar, Palestine, Ukraine, Manipur, and the South China Sea region of the Philippines, along with reports of rape, homicides, landslides, and floods, we...

Sermon - The Battle is the Lord’s

The Battle is the Lord’s 1 Samuel 17:47 “And that all this assembly may know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” Introduction I believe we are all quite familiar with the famous encounter between David and Goliath , the Philistine giant. Though this story may no longer sound new to our ears, I invite you to pause and reflect on this remarkable event with fresh eyes — as men and women preparing ourselves daily for the Lord’s battle. The Encounter at the Valley of Elah This historic confrontation took place sometime after David had first served Saul as a musician. Returning home to tend his father’s sheep, David’s ordinary life as a shepherd was soon interrupted by extraordinary events. The Philistines , longtime enemies of Israel, gathered their forces at Shochoh , near Azekah, in the region between the hills of Judah and the plains of Philistia. King Saul and the Israelite army encampe...
